Garlic bread topped with gooey mozzarella cheese and green pesto.
If you have any leftover bread but you're unsure what it could be used for, then this is the perfect recipe for you. Trust me, it tastes like restaurant-quality garlic bread despite its simplicity.
Ingredients
2 slices of sourdough bread
Handful of mozzarella cheese,grated
1 stick of unsalted butter
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tsp oregano
4 small tsp pesto
Cracked Pepper, to taste
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°F.
In a bowl, mix butter, garlic, oregano, and cracked pepper, then melt in the microwave for 15–20 seconds (making sure the butter doesn't completely melt).
Spread the garlic butter onto the bread slices and sprinkle on the cheese.
Add the pesto in small teaspoons on top of the cheese (do not spread).
Bake for 8-10 minutes on a baking sheet.
