HALLOUMI GYROS
 

With homemade Tzaatziki

Gyros are the most famous of Greek meals; it's a classic sandwich with meat (or halloumi or falafel) wrapped in a pita and topped with tzatziki, which is a yoghurt sauce.

Halloumi Gyro Recipe

Ingredients
 
  • 1 Pitta wrap
  • 1 slice Halloumi
  • 1/2 cup chips of choice
  • 1/4 red onion, chopped
  • 1/4 red pepper, chopped
  • 1 tbsp tzatziki
Method  
 
  1. Fry halloumi in a pan with oil.
  2. Microwave the pita on a plate for 30 seconds to one minute.
  3. Fill the heated pita wrap with all of the ingredients, including the homemade Tzatziki.
 
Tzatziki ​Recipe
Ingredients
  • 1 cup cucumber, grated
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup Greek yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
Method
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients.
